Using classroom management as the driving force for social and academic success, this workshop is a holistic approach to addressing comprehensible input, the affective filter, and acquired knowledge in a classroom context by focusing on the different classroom management styles and the root cause of stunned social and academic growth.

The workshop presenter is Ricardo Castro, 2017 Illinois Teacher of the Year. Ricardo is a passionate leader and educator. He received his Bachelor's Degree from DePaul University in 2007 receiving certification in Middle School Social Science, Language Arts, ESL, and Bilingual Spanish. He then went on to earn his Master's Degree from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2010 with a concentration on ESL and Bilingual Education. In his 9 years of teaching, Ricardo has been recognized with many awards, including; Outstanding Activity Advisor Award – IDSA, 2017 Teacher of the Year – District 214 Elk Grove High School, Project STELL Recipient, Martin Luther King Jr. Award, Kathleen Gibbons Scholarship, DePaul University Minority Scholarship, and Quebecor World Award.

This workshop is free for Foundation club members. There is a $25 fee for all others to attend. A light dinner will be provided for all.

Workshop starts at 4:30 p.m. but attendees are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior.
